This savvy teen is creating a safe dating app

Forget swiping right, one 15-year-old is on a mission to revolutionize how teens experience love and relationships online.

Yes, you read that correctly.

She’s 15. 🤯

Elle is a Prequel student, Alpha sophomore, and the inventor of AskElle, an AI-powered dating coach for teens, with over 2,500 downloads. 👇️

She’s the pal that every teen needs

Elle isn’t a computer scientist or a programmer. She just wanted to help teens have healthier relationships.

Elle is known among her peers as the “therapist friend” with a knack for offering sage advice on their relationships.

This useful skill, coupled with her interest in tech and psychology, lit the path toward developing AskElle.

The current iteration of the app provides personalized advice for teens using a fine-tuned AI interface that’s been designed to think and interact like Elle.

👉 You might be thinking, “who the heck cares about Elle’s advice?”

Well, her 200k TikTok followers seem to be impressed by what she has to say. She’s racked up nearly 60 million likes on her videos helping fellow teens navigate relationships.

Suffice to say, she’s pretty good at it. 🤷

But it’s not as easy at it looks

Elle faces her share of challenges.

Of course, balancing school, app development, and content creation is no small feat, but the true trials are more complex.

💡 There’s a reason why Elle’s relationship advice is so solid—

It’s because she immerses herself in leading books, papers, and studies on the topics of teen brain development and relationship psychology.

This gritty work is how she’s been able to establish herself as a voice of authority on teen dating at such a remarkably young age.

But there’s a problem:

👉️ Psychology studies are a tad —err— dry. They’re not exactly fit for teen consumption.

So Elle has trained herself to become a pro at distilling complex and often boring topics into viral-worthy vids with actionable advice.

Y’all — most adults can’t do this.

And it’s something that Elle does every day because she wholly understands the mathematics of an annoying little business concept called churn. 👇️

“It’s not like once you have followers, you really have them, period. It can go up and down. I was sick for five days and lost 600 followers.”

The girl knows how to grind. 👊

And this is just the beginning

Elle is committed to turning AskElle into a full-fledged safe teen dating app.

Why?

Because there isn’t one. All the kids are on Snapchat. 😬

“Teens dating through Snapchat is comical because of why it was made — it was literally created by some guy who wanted to send promiscuous photos without getting caught. And the fact that this is where teens are dating and forming relationships is just insane.”

I couldn’t agree more, Elle.

Elle’s strategy is thoughtful:

  1. First, she’s educating teens about safe and healthy dating using her TikTok platform and the current iteration of AskElle.

  2. Next, she plans to deliver a digital space where teens can connect for dating that is 100% safe.

And she’s not concerned about the big players like Match Group (owners of Tinder, Hinge, and other popular apps) heading her off at the pass.

“I am a teen. I’m not some creepy corporation who’s trying to just get your kid for money. I actually care — that’s the whole reason I’m doing this.”

I’m stoked to watch AskElle take off. And don’t worry, I’ll be keeping you all updated on Elle’s journey!
