GUESS THE BIZ KID

In “Guess the Biz Kid”, we give you three clues to guess the name of a founder who started their company while still in school.

Clue #1: This teen started his company from a dorm room at an Ivy League school.

Clue #2: In the early days of his company, you may have found yourself in a “poke war” with your friends. Yep, that’s really mature.

Clue #3: 20 years (and one controversial name-change) later, his company and its subsidiaries are worth over a trillion dollars. You probably own stock in it.

Not-so-dirty jobs are gaining steam

It turns out that Gen Z isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

Enrollment in trade schools rose 16% last year, the biggest rise since data has been recorded. This is a good thing for a lot of reasons:

👉 It can be a rockin’ pathway to entrepreneurship.

19-year-old Colby Dell always thought working on cars was more of a hobby, and planned to attend a traditional college to get a “real job”.

“Looking into these vocational schools, I realized it was a dream I could really pursue,” he soon discovered.

And boy, is he pursuing it. 👊

After auto school, he’s launching his own car detailing and body work company, using seed money that his father had originally saved for… Colby’s college tuition.

Instead, that cash is now an investment in his son’s company. 💰

Colby’s younger brother has expressed an interest in starting a welding company, and dad plans to offer him the same investment. “I expect them to outearn me someday,” he hopes.
